500 years of history at Tratzberg castle

Unique jewel among the castles in Austria

Tratzberg Castle was built in the year 1500, high above the Inn Valley. It was the hunting lodge of Emperor Maximilian I and the Fuggers. It is exquisitely equipped and was richly extended in the Renaissance. Since 1848, the castle is a private residence of the Counts Enzenberg. By using fascinating radio plays (available in up to 8 languages) emperors, knights and other aristocratic owners of Tratzberg lead "in person" through the castle and show magnificent renaissance rooms, originally furnished gothic rooms, the hunting hall, the gothic chapel, and a unique wall painting of the Habsburg family tree with it’s 148 figures and the extensive collection of armory.
