WINTER AT LAKE ACHENSEE - Experience Pure Nature

Families will love that children can learn to ski at various children’s ski schools around Achensee. Tirols Sport & Vital Park Achensee also offers fun on the slopes in more ways than anywhere else. Tyrolean snowboard pioneers are just as much at home here as the snow bike. If you prefer to ascend to begin your skiing under your own steam, you’ll love the routes on offer in the Rofan and Karwendel mountains.

For winter hikers, lake Achensee and the snowy surrounding valleys of the Karwendel mountains are a dream come true. And the region has also proven itself as a cross-country skiing haven among Nordic sport lovers.

EXPERIENCE WINTER ON FOOT

Silence all around you. You can only hear the crunching of the snow, the clicking of your sticks and the sound of your own breath. Experience the snow-covered winter landscape in a completely new way.

Snow shoe walkers setting off from the banks of lake Achensee not only benefit from a variety of routes but are also treated to impressive panoramic views. The Kögljoch and Rofan peaks offer very special views down over lake Achensee as well as the Großglockner and Großvenediger in the distance. But there are also plenty of places to take a breather and lots to see as well: from the popular Stod waterfall to wild ibex, chamois and even golden eagles circling over the Karwendel National Park.
